💡 As part of the journey to identifying your niche and building a brand around your content, it helps to understand your unique position as a creator and the benefit of all the experiences you’ve had and the lessons you’ve learned to get where you are.
This worksheet will guide you through exploring your skills and unfair advantages to help you find your authentic and unique edge among the competition and to crystallise this into a new understanding of yourself as a creator. It draws on several coaching techniques as well as lessons we’ve learned from helping over 2,000 creators through this process.

1. What’s your unfair advantage?
- [ ] Do you have more knowledge in a certain area compared to your competition?
- [ ] Do you live in an ideal location or access to a certain network where there are plenty of opportunities for serendipity?
- [ ] Do you have more money than your competition?
- [ ] Did you go to a great university? Does it have a good alumni network? Do you know anyone else (or a group of people) from your personal/professional life that can help you get an edge?
- [ ] Does your profession give you an unfair advantage?
- [ ] Are you particularly confident or have high self-esteem?
2. How can you dial up your creativity?
- Look at your favourite creators and find examples of their work that you like.
- What are the strengths and weaknesses of their work?
- What aspects of their work can you imitate to improve the quality and creativity of your own work?
- How can you combine different aspects from all these different creators to create something new/innovative/interesting?
3. How can you dial up your consistency?
- How long do you spend on your creative side-hustle every day?
- How could you make more time to spend on your creative side hustle? It may be a good idea to track your time for the next week so you’ve got a better idea as to how you’re currently spending your time.
4. What makes you authentic?
- What three things bring the most happiness into your life?
- What three things do you like most about yourself?
